Kaylee walked into the comic book shop on the Boardwalk.
She had her headphones on and her iPod in the pocket of the Freddy Kreuger hoodie she was wearing. She bobbed her head to the music as she went over to the comic book shelf that held the Batman comics. She wanted to find one to bring to Sam. She still hadn’t had time to come over and cheer him up.
Edgar and Zoe are behind the counter sorting through fake ten cent coins that people have paid for comics with when Kaylee appears at the entrance. For a moment Edgar ignores it, then a scent hits him- vampire.
He turns his head ever so slowly, squinting at the girl on the other side of the room:
“Seen her before,” he says to Zoe, voice low full of suspicion and discomfort. Then he makes his way over to Kaylee.
